Combine first six ingredients in a medium size sauce pan Stir in enough vinegar to make a paste Combine the remaining ingredients and incorporate well and bring to a boil stirring constantly Reduce heat and simmer 1520 minutes

I use cornstarch to thicken one 1 tbsp will do the trick One trick I use is tempering when adding starch during the cooking cycle Mix one 1 tbsp starch with two 2 tbsp vinegar mixing till smooth Then add 1/2 cup of warm sauce to mixture stirring till smooth Then add mixture back to sauce cooking for 1015 extra minutes
