Chef Notes: |
| |
|
| |
For toasting pecans 325 degrees works great. The low temperature allows the natural oils in the nuts to surface and the nuts to toast up nicely. 10 minutes will give you the prefect nut each time. Allow 15 minutes cooling time before using or storing. Higher temps seems to dry the nuts out and leave them tasteless. The other key ingredient in this recipe is the vanilla. Bobbie uses only pure Mexican vanilla. Its one ingredient you just can't skimp on.
